Seven first-inning runs helped the Orleans Firebirds (12-9) to a 9-4 win over the Brewster Whitecaps (8-11) at Eldredge Park on Saturday.

The Orleans Firebirds scored in the first on an RBI double by Kevin Muno, an RBI single by Michael Olt, a two-run home run by Jeremy Gould, an RBI single by Danny Muno, and a two-run single by Gary Brown.

Gould racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Orleans Firebirds.

Rob Rasmussen's nine strikeouts were enough to push the Orleans Firebirds past the Brewster Whitecaps. Rasmussen allowed two earned runs, four hits and no walks over 5 2/3 innings.

Tant Shepherd racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Brewster Whitecaps. He homered in the second inning.

Sean Bierman (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in two innings, walked one and struck out two.
