The Hyannis Harbor Hawks (9-11) and the Cotuit Kettleers (8-11) each put runners in scoring position on Friday, but the Hyannis Harbor Hawks capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 6-3 win at McKeon Park.
Ryan Cuneo paced the Hyannis Harbor Hawks at the plate. Cuneo went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings.
The Cotuit Kettleers couldn't get anything going as long as Mark Gormley was pitching. Gormley held the Cotuit Kettleers hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.
The Cotuit Kettleers were led by Zach Cox's hitting. Cox went 4-5 and drove in one. He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.
Eric Maust got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed one run over 1 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered four hits.
Seth Blair took the loss for the Cotuit Kettleers. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
