The Harwich Mariners (8-9) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-3 to the Brewster Whitecaps (6-8) on Sunday.

While the Harwich Mariners led until the eighth inning, the Brewster Whitecaps worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run home run by Tant Shepherd.

Jarrett Parker was solid at the plate for the Brewster Whitecaps. Parker went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the ninth inning.

Trent Mummey racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Harwich Mariners. He homered in the first inning and singled in the second innings.

Sean Bierman recorded his first win of the year for the Brewster Whitecaps. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Chase Reid was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
