An excellent effort by Rob Rasmussen lifted the Orleans Firebirds (9-7) to a 1-0 win in 10 innings over the Chatham Anglers (10-7) on Saturday at Veterans Field.

Rasmussen held the Chatham Anglers scoreless for seven innings. Rasmussen struck out seven and allowed two walks and three hits.

Matt Hiserman recorded his first win of the year for the Orleans Firebirds. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Russell Brewer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
