An ace performance by Bryan Morgado lifted the Bourne Braves (6-5) to a 2-1 win over the Cotuit Kettleers (7-5) on Monday at Doran Park.

Morgado baffled the Cotuit Kettleers, striking out 13 batters. The Bourne Braves' pitcher gave up just one hit over five shutout innings.

Scott Woodward pushed the Bourne Braves ahead, in the eighth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Chris Wallace singled to start the eighth. He then went from first to second. Finally, Woodward came to the plate with the score tied at one, and, scoring Wallace.

Woodward did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Bourne Braves, reaching base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the fifth and seventh innings.

Despite the loss, the Cotuit Kettleers' Jake Buchanan dominated the Bourne Braves' batters, giving up zero runs and striking out five.

Eric Cantrell got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed one run over three innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Mike Nesseth (0-2) took the loss for the Cotuit Kettleers. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
