Jonathan Jones brought home the go-ahead run to give the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (5-6) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox hung on to beat the Orleans Firebirds (5-6) 3-1 on Friday.

Ben McMahan to start the seventh. He then went from second to third. Finally, Jones came to the plate with the score tied at one, and singled, scoring McMahan.

McMahan reached base two times in the game for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the third inning.

The Orleans Firebirds had no answer for Jared Ray, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Orleans Firebirds managed just two hits off of the the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Tommy Kahnle (1-1) took the loss for the Orleans Firebirds. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
