An ace performance by Turner Phelps spurred the Bourne Braves (4-4) to a 4-0 win over the Chatham Anglers (9-2) on Friday at Veterans Field.

Phelps struck out nine, paving the way for a the Bourne Braves win. The Bourne Braves' pitcher tossed six innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.

Cody Freeman had a hot bat for the Bourne Braves. Freeman went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.

The Bourne Braves couldn't get anything going as long as Patrick Johnson was pitching. Johnson gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his two innings of work.

Kaleb Fleck ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed one run.
