The Orleans Firebirds (2-4)'s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 6-1 win over the Cotuit Kettleers (3-2) on Thursday at Eldredge Park.

Alex Hassan racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Orleans Firebirds. He tripled in the third innings.

Rob Rasmussen struck out 10 hitters en route to the the Orleans Firebirds win. Rasmussen allowed no earned runs, two hits and one walk over six innings.

Max Russell ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out three.
