A magnificent effort by Mike Dennhardt hoisted the Chatham Anglers (5-1) to a 2-0 win over the Bourne Braves (2-3) on Thursday at Doran Park.
Dennhardt looked sharp on the mound. The Bourne Braves managed just one hit off of Dennhardt, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his eight innings of work.
Joey Terdoslavich helped the Chatham Anglers take the lead for good in the sixth inning. Matt Duffy to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Dean Green. Finally, Terdoslavich came to the plate with the game scoreless in the sixth inning and, bringing home Duffy.
Ken Ferrer couldn't get it done on the bump for the Bourne Braves, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
