An impressive effort by Brandon Compton led the Cotuit Kettleers (3-1) to a 7-0 win over the Harwich Mariners on Wednesday at Whitehouse Field.
Compton kept the Harwich Mariners (2-3) off the board during his eight innings of work. Compton struck out three and allowed two walks and three hits.
The biggest inning for the Cotuit Kettleers was the fourth. In the inning the Cotuit Kettleers scored four runs.
Rico Noel was solid at the plate for the Cotuit Kettleers. Noel went 3-4, drove in one and scored three runs. He singled in the first and fifth innings and homered in the seventh inning.
Justin Wright (0-1) took the loss for the Harwich Mariners. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
