A walk-off solo blast from Trent Mummey brought home the winning run for the Harwich Mariners (2-0) in a 2-1 victory over the Orleans Firebirds (0-3) in 11 innings at Whitehouse Field on Sunday.

Mummey put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Harwich Mariners. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the eleventh inning.

Brian Dupra recorded his first win of the year for the Harwich Mariners. Dupra struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

Michael Ness ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
