Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Wednesday as the Boozehounds (5-3) outscored the toon squad (7-1) 15-9 in six innings.
The two teams combined for 35 hits in the game.
The Boozehounds blew out the toon squad thanks to 18 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Boozehounds scored six runs in the first on , a sacrifice fly by Kelli Monahan, a groundout by Dawn Urbanski, an RBI single by Eddy Cepeda, an RBI single by Bill Martucci, and an RBI single by Aileen Barrett.
Rich Yarusso had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second inning, tripled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Martucci recorded his first win for the Boozehounds even though he allowed nine runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered 17 hits.
Mike Ging ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 15 runs in six innings, walked six and struck out none.
