Early lead not enough for the Camden Riversharks, drop 5-1 decision to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs

The Camden Riversharks (61-74) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-1 to the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (66-70) on Wednesday.

While the Camden Riversharks led until the seventh inning, the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs worked their way back and took the lead.

Jeremy Owens racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Ben Moore handled the Camden Riversharks' lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Moore allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings.

Despite the loss, the Camden Riversharks' Steve Fox dominated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs' batters, giving up one run and striking out five.

Kevin Hart recorded his first win of the year for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Hart struck out none, walked two and gave up no hits.

Adrian Martin (0-1) took the loss for the Camden Riversharks. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
