An excellent effort by Pj Haines hoisted the toon squad (9-4) to a 17-9 win in seven innings over the FREE LOADERS (2-10) on Wednesday at East Islip Marina Field #4.

Haines racked up 10 RBIs on four hits for the toon squad. He doubled in the fourth inning, tripled in the fifth inning, and homered in the first and seventh innings.

The two teams combined for 26 runs and 37 hits, including zero extra base hits.

The toon squad blew out the FREE LOADERS thanks to 23 hits, including zero extra base hits. The toon squad scored five runs in the seventh on a three-run home run by Haines, , and a sacrifice fly by Mike Ging.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to 12 lead changes in the game.

Ging got his eighth win for the toon squad despite allowing nine runs over seven innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered 14 hits.

Jeff Hammond (1-6) took the loss for the FREE LOADERS. He allowed 17 runs in seven innings, walked three and struck out one.

The toon squad pounded the FREE LOADERS pitching, as six hitters combined for 20 hits, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
