Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Wednesday as the toon squad (7-0) outscored the Boozehounds (4-3) 17-11 in seven innings.
The two teams combined for 45 hits in the game.
The toon squad stamped out any hope for the Boozehounds with six runs in the second.
Pj Haines pushed the toon squad ahead, in the sixth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. With the score tied at nine in the sixth inning, Haines came to the plate and singled.
Haines racked up three RBIs on three hits for the toon squad. He doubled in the first inning, singled in the sixth inning, and tripled in the seventh inning.
Kieron Kerley racked up eight RBIs on four hits for the toon squad. He doubled in the first inning, homered in the second inning, and singled in the fourth and seventh innings.
Mike Ging got his seventh win for the toon squad despite allowing 11 runs over seven innings. Ging struck out none, walked two and gave up 20 hits.
Eddy Cepeda ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed 17 runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
The toon squad easily handled the Boozehounds pitching as six hitters combined for 19 hits, 16 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
