An outstanding effort by Mike Libretti hoisted the Piranhas (5-0) to a 21-8 win in five innings over the Ball Busters Castro (4-1) on Sunday at Bellport Field #2.
Libretti racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Piranhas. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and homered in the second and fifth innings.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 29 runs and 32 hits, including zero extra base hits.
Twelve runs in the first three innings helped the Piranhas blow out the Ball Busters Castro. An RBI single by Dennis Michaels and a three-run double by Jimmy Mazza during the first inning and a single by Anthony Allegretti, a two-run double by Ariel Gerena, a two-run double by James Ricciardo, a two-run home run by Libretti, a sacrifice fly by Michaels, and an RBI single by Mazza in the second inning fueled the Piranhas' offense early.
john castro racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Ball Busters Castro. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.
The Piranhas easily handled the Ball Busters Castro pitching as seven hitters combined for 18 hits, 19 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
