An impressive effort by Adam Gunn led the Bellingham Bells (1-0) to a 1-0 win over the Wenatchee AppleSox on Saturday.
The Bellingham Bells' Gunn kept the Wenatchee AppleSox (0-1) off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on five hits while ringing up six.
Joe Winterburn helped the Bellingham Bells pull ahead for the duration in the seventh inning. With the game scoreless in the seventh inning Winterburn came to the plate and homered.
Winterburn paced the Bellingham Bells at the plate. Winterburn went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Bryce Jackson (0-1) took the loss for the Wenatchee AppleSox. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
