Ryan Howell drove in the winning run to give the Wenatchee AppleSox (1-1) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Wenatchee AppleSox hung on to beat the Bellingham Bells (1-1) 4-1 on Sunday.
Mitchell Gunsolus singled to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Ty Moore. Finally, Howell came to the plate with the score tied at one, and doubled, bringing home Gunsolus.It was a good day at the plate for the Wenatchee AppleSox's Gunsolus. Gunsolus went 3-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth and seventh innings.
Derek Callahan picked up the win for the Wenatchee AppleSox. Callahan allowed one earned run, six hits and three walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
Jared Fisher (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
