Bossart gives the Licking County Settlers late push to beat the Cincinnati Steam, 6-2

Austin Bossart brought home the winning run to give the Licking County Settlers (5-1) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Licking County Settlers hung on to beat the Cincinnati Steam (2-3) 6-2 on Sunday.

With the score tied at two in the eighth inning, Bossart came to the plate and homered.

Bossart was hot from the plate for the Licking County Settlers. Bossart went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the eighth inning.

Jake Fields had two extra-base hits for the Licking County Settlers. He doubled in the fourth inning, homered in the eighth inning, and singled in the ninth inning.

Connor Murphy brought the heat against the Cincinnati Steam during his outing. The Cincinnati Steam managed just one hit off of the the Licking County Settlers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Despite the loss, the Cincinnati Steam's Conner Stevens dominated the Licking County Settlers' batters, giving up one run and striking out six.

Alex Vice ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

The Licking County Settlers were sparked by Bossart and Ryan Huber, who teamed up for seven hits and four RBIs.
