The Sleestacks outlast the TFA Comets in high-scoring affair, 17-15

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Thursday as the Sleestacks (14-7) outscored the TFA Comets (12-9) 17-15 in seven innings.

The two teams combined for 43 hits in the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to 10 lead changes in the game.

The Sleestacks finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. A sacrifice fly by Jay flannery and gave the Sleestacks the lead for good.

The Sleestacks held off the TFA Comets, as the TFA Comets were unable to overcome a seven-run seventh inning deficit.

The TFA Comets scored five runs in the seventh on an RBI double by Greg Flannery, two errors, a two-run home run by Mike Polinince, and a single by Bob Giordano. Still, the TFA Comets couldn't catch the Sleestacks.

Mike Kocherkevich racked up four RBIs on four hits for the Sleestacks. He doubled in the first inning, singled in the third and fourth innings, and tripled in the sixth inning.

Dave Tellerman got his seventh win for the Sleestacks despite allowing 15 runs over seven innings. Tellerman struck out one, walked one and gave up 21 hits.

Giordano (7-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 17 runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out none.

The Sleestacks pounded the TFA Comets pitching, as six hitters combined for 17 hits, 15 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
