The Lethbridge Bulls (1-2) trailed by four in the eighth, but Bretton Gouthro was able to capture the lead back with a double in the eighth, spurring the Lethbridge Bulls to an 8-6 win over the Swift Current Indians (2-1) at Spitz Stadium on Friday.
With the Lethbridge Bulls trailing by two, Gouthro came to the plate and doubled, bringing home Corey Wood and Travis Steinke.
Gouthro racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lethbridge Bulls. He singled in the seventh inning and doubled in the eighth inning.
Jesse Sawyer racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Lethbridge Bulls. He homered in the eighth inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.
Michael Lange pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and two walks while striking out two.
Despite the loss, the Swift Current Indians' Larsen Kohler dominated the Lethbridge Bulls' batters, giving up two runs and striking out six.
Jake Hansen got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed three runs over one inning. Hansen struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.
Mitch Ludtke ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
