Tuesday was a great day for Daniel Jones, as Jones threw eight scoreless innings to carry the Regina Red Sox (2-0) to a 12-2 victory over the Weyburn Beavers (0-2) at Currie Field.
Nine runs in the first three innings helped the Regina Red Sox blow out the Weyburn Beavers. An RBI single by Randy Ramirez and a two-run double by Mitch MacDonald in the first inning and an RBI single by Hector Rivera, , a hit by pitch, and during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Regina Red Sox.
Josh Young went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Regina Red Sox. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth and seventh innings.
Luke Hawkins (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in two innings, walked three and struck out one.
