The So. Ohio Copperheads (1-0) used a four-run explosion in the eighth inning to get past the Stark County Terriers (0-1) 10-3 on Tuesday at Bob Wren Stadium.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

The So. Ohio Copperheads took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. A groundout by Mike Fish scored Joe Sturino and gave the So. Ohio Copperheads the lead for good.

Matt Borgschulte put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the So. Ohio Copperheads. He tripled in the first inning, singled in the fifth inning, and homered in the eighth inning.

Justin Brantley struck out eight, paving the way for a the So. Ohio Copperheads win. Brantley allowed two earned runs on five hits and three walks over six innings.

Casey Wilson was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out nine, and allowed four runs.
