Thursday was a great day for Shawn Lewick, as Lewick tossed a shutout to carry the Hays Larks (6-1) to an 8-0 victory over the Santa Barbara Foresters at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in seven innings.

The Hays Larks' Lewick kept the Santa Barbara Foresters (5-1) off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out eight.

The offense exploded for the the Hays Larks in the first. The Hays Larks' bats caught fire leading to five runs.

Aaron Cornell did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Hays Larks, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning.

Jared Wilson couldn't get it done on the hill for the Santa Barbara Foresters, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
