The Santa Barbara Foresters (3-0) beat the Hutchinson Monarchs (2-1) 5-4 but needed 13 innings to do so on Sunday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

With the score tied at four in the thirteenth inning, Arby Fields came to the plate and singled, scoring Zach Fish.

Fields helped the Santa Barbara Foresters pull ahead for the duration in the thirteenth inning.

Weston Hall paced the Santa Barbara Foresters at the plate. Hall went 2-3 and scored two runs. He singled in the seventh inning.

Jason Hursh looked sharp on the mound. Hursh held the Hutchinson Monarchs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Paul White ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
