An ace performance by Chad Nack spurred the Liberal Bee Jays (2-1) to a 3-2 win in 11 innings over the Colorado Sox (1-2) on Friday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.
Nack baffled the Colorado Sox, striking out 10 batters. Nack allowed no earned runs, five hits and two walks over eight innings.
A walk-off single by Tanner Rainey gave the Liberal Bee Jays the win.
Rainey was solid at the plate for the Liberal Bee Jays. Rainey went 3-6, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fifth, tenth, and eleventh innings.
Ray Ashford recorded his first win of the year for the Liberal Bee Jays. Ashford struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.
Richard Sandoval ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
