A great day by Edgar Lopez wasn't enough to carry the Newton Rebels (1-1) to a win on Thursday, as the Newton Rebels fell to the Dodge City A's (2-0) 4-3 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in 10 innings.

The Dodge City A's couldn't get anything going as long as Lopez was on the mound. Lopez gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out six during his eight innings of work.

A walk-off double by Mitchell Corwin gave the Dodge City A's the win.

Corwin reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the tenth inning.

Tommy King improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Dodge City A's. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Trey Watson was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
