The Southern Illinois Miners (36-26) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Evansville Otters (27-35), and the Southern Illinois Miners lost 3-1 to the Evansville Otters after falling behind by three runs in the sixth inning.

The Southern Illinois Miners scored one run in the seventh on an RBI single by Will Block. Despite their efforts, the Southern Illinois Miners couldn't finish the comeback.

Taylor Black racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Matt Zielinski struck out seven, paving the way for a the Evansville Otters win. The Evansville Otters' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.

Brian Fowler (5-5) took the loss for the Southern Illinois Miners. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed two runs.
