The GEN Twins (1-0) jumped on the Hornell (0-1) early on their way to a 6-5 win on Friday at Maple City Park, scoring three runs in the first inning.

The GEN Twins held off the Hornell, as the Hornell were unable to overcome a five-run fourth inning deficit.

The Hornell scored on a three-run home run by Matt Calhoun in the fifth inning, a groundout by Ben Gielow in the eighth inning, and an RBI single by Dylan Dunn and an RBI single by Dunn in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Hornell couldn't finish the comeback.

Chris Casto racked up two RBIs on four hits for the GEN Twins. He homered in the third inning and singled in the first, seventh, and ninth innings.

Jon Menke got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Nicholas Boyd (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
