The Rockford RiverHawks (39-53) took home a 9-2 victory over the Road Warriors (8-24) on Wednesday at RiverHawks Stadium, fueled by six runs in the seventh inning.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with five lead changes.

The Rockford RiverHawks finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. A groundout by Matt Greener scored Evan Button and gave the Rockford RiverHawks the lead for good.

Michael Thomas racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Rockford RiverHawks. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Drew Rucinski struck out eight hitters en route to the the Rockford RiverHawks win. Rucinski allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks over nine innings.

Tyler Vaske ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
