The Lake Erie Crushers (34-28) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Road Warriors (1-1) on Thursday, as the Lake Erie Crushers fell 5-4 at All Pro Freight Stadium after falling behind by five runs in the third inning.
The Lake Erie Crushers scored on a solo home run by Daniel Bowman in the fourth inning, an error in the sixth inning, and an RBI double by Russell Moldenhauer and an RBI single by Ben Klafczynski in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the Lake Erie Crushers couldn't finish the comeback.
Wesley Jones racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Road Warriors. He homered in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Bowman racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Lake Erie Crushers.
Kevin McGovern improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Road Warriors. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.
Eric Gonzalez-Diaz (5-6) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
