Early lead gives the Ottawa Fat Cats easy victory over the Hamilton Cardinals, 10-2

The Ottawa Fat Cats (17-18) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Hamilton Cardinals (5-29), recording a 10-2 victory on Tuesday at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Ottawa Fat Cats left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A wild pitch and a two-run double by LaDale Hayes in the first inning and an RBI double by Eitan Maoz, a two-run double by Kevin Dietrich, and an RBI single by Brandon Huffman during the second inning fueled the Ottawa Fat Cats' offense early.

Dietrich racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Ottawa Fat Cats.

Brett Sabourin's seven strikeouts were enough to push the Ottawa Fat Cats past the Hamilton Cardinals. Sabourin allowed two earned runs on four hits and five walks over 7 2/3 innings.

Daniel Jagdeo got on base two times in the game for the Hamilton Cardinals. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the fourth inning.

Neal Lambert (0-1) took the loss for the Hamilton Cardinals. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked one and struck out one.
