The SYR JR Chiefs (28-12) and the Sherrill (16-24) passed the lead back and forth six times on Thursday at Hopkins Road Park, but in the end the SYR JR Chiefs pulled out an 8-7 win over the Sherrill.

Zach Blanden led the SYR JR Chiefs' offensive threat, as he got on base five times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third, fifth, sixth, and ninth innings.

Robert Frank looked sharp on the mound. The Sherrill managed just two hits off of the the SYR JR Chiefs' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out six during his four innings of work.

Byron Campbell got on base four times in the game for the Sherrill. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Aidan Wiese got his first win for the SYR JR Chiefs despite allowing six runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked three and surrendered nine hits.

Derek Dubois couldn't get it done on the hill for the Sherrill, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
