A superb effort by Trent Miller spurred the Lake Erie Monarchs (16-18) to a 23-11 win over the So. Ohio Copperheads (18-13) on Monday at Bob Wren Stadium.

Miller racked up eight RBIs on four hits for the Lake Erie Monarchs. He singled in the second and fourth innings and homered in the first and seventh innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 34 total runs and 32 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with seven pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

The Lake Erie Monarchs left no doubt in the outcome with seven runs in the fourth.

Cristian Torres handled the So. Ohio Copperheads' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Torres allowed no earned runs, three hits and one walk over four innings.

Johnathan Frebis got his second win for the Lake Erie Monarchs despite allowing seven runs over four innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered eight hits.

Tyler Isbell couldn't get it done on the mound for the So. Ohio Copperheads, taking a loss. He allowed 10 runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked six and struck out two.
