The SYR Salt Cats make the most of 7 hits in 7-5 victory over the Utica

The SYR Salt Cats (7-13) and the Utica (11-11) both threatened with rallies, but it was the SYR Salt Cats that eventually took advantage of them in a 7-5 win at Donovan Stadium.

The SYR Salt Cats staved off the Utica as the Utica were unable to match the SYR Salt Cats down the stretch.

The Utica scored on an RBI single by Steven Chagolla in the seventh inning, a groundout by Blaine Tanner in the eighth inning, and an error, an RBI single by Daniel De La Calle, and an RBI single by De La Calle in the ninth inning. Still, the Utica couldn't draw even.

Dan Fiorito racked up two RBIs on one hit for the SYR Salt Cats. He tripled in the seventh inning.

Sean Williams's six strikeouts were enough to push the SYR Salt Cats past the Utica. The SYR Salt Cats' pitcher gave up just four hits over five shutout innings.

Tyler Bowditch couldn't get it done on the mound for the Utica, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out seven, and allowed two runs.
