The Brantford Red Sox top the Hamilton Cardinals behind Thorman's 3 hits, 18-5

A magnificent effort by Scott Thorman led the Brantford Red Sox (21-3) to an 18-5 win over the Hamilton Cardinals (5-19) on Wednesday at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

Thorman rocked the Hamilton Cardinals with two home runs. Thorman went 3-4 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Thorman homered in the first and fourth innings.

Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed the Brantford Red Sox to easily put away the Hamilton Cardinals. A two-run home run by Hyung Cho, a solo home run by Thorman, a solo home run by Terrell Alliman, and a groundout by Kevin Hinton in the first inning helped the Brantford Red Sox put some runs on the board early.

Chris Chavez brought the heat against the Hamilton Cardinals during his outing. The Hamilton Cardinals managed just one hit off of Chavez, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Zack Pearson was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed five runs.

The Brantford Red Sox easily handled the Hamilton Cardinals pitching as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 14 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
