The Southland Vikings (6-9) trailed by zero in the ninth, but the Southland Vikings recovered thanks to a key double in the ninth inning from John Loeffler to pull out an 8-7 win in 10 innings over the Northwest Indiana Oilmen (14-4) at Oil City Stadium, Whiting,IN on Friday.

With the Northwest Indiana Oilmen trailing by one, Loeffler came to the plate and doubled, scoring Billy Miller.

Loeffler led the Northwest Indiana Oilmen's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the ninth inning.
