After five lead changes in Wednesday's game at The Pipe Yard, the Butler Blue Sox (12-8) finally pulled out a 6-5 win over the Lorain County Ironmen (6-13).
The Butler Blue Sox took the lead in the third inning and held on for the victory. A groundout by Jason Radwan scored Matt Albaugh and gave the Butler Blue Sox the lead for good.
The Butler Blue Sox staved off the Lorain County Ironmen as the Lorain County Ironmen were unable to match the Butler Blue Sox down the stretch.
The Lorain County Ironmen scored on an RBI double by Scott White and an RBI double by White in the fifth inning and an RBI double by Kevin Jovanovich in the seventh inning. Despite their efforts, the Lorain County Ironmen couldn't get over the hump.
Neal Jacobs went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the Butler Blue Sox. He doubled in the second and fourth innings and singled in the third and seventh innings.
David Kucenic got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed one run over two innings. Kucenic struck out none, walked one and gave up two hits.
Robert Sakosky (0-2) took the loss for the Lorain County Ironmen. He lasted just three innings, walked six, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
