Joel Johnson went 1-2 as the Cowlitz Black Bears (1-0) took home a 2-0 victory over the Portland Ports (0-1) at Story Field on Tuesday.

Taylor Williams shut down the Portland Ports while he was on the mound. Williams held the Portland Ports hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Cole Irvin recorded his first win of the year for the Cowlitz Black Bears. He struck out six, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Andrew Schenk (0-1) took the loss for the Portland Ports. He lasted just three innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed one run.
