The bats were busy at Schmidt and Shaw Stadium on Saturday, and when the dust cleared the Brantford Red Sox (16-3) had a 12-8 win over the Barrie Baycats (11-10).

The two teams combined for 31 hits in the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.

The Barrie Baycats couldn't slow down Tyler Burnell, who paced the Brantford Red Sox with five hits. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the third, fourth, sixth, and ninth innings.

Mark James recorded his first win of the year for the Brantford Red Sox. He allowed three runs over 2 1/3 innings. James struck out one, walked two and gave up three hits.

CJ Machete was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed five runs.

The Brantford Red Sox easily handled the Barrie Baycats pitching as six hitters combined for 15 hits, 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
