The Cowlitz Black Bears (24-27) and the Kelowna Falcons (28-26) passed the lead back and forth seven times on Monday at Story Field, but in the end the Cowlitz Black Bears pulled out a 4-3 win over the Kelowna Falcons.
The Cowlitz Black Bears finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. Scored Derrick Salberg and gave the Cowlitz Black Bears the lead for good.
The Kelowna Falcons were led by Reed Lavallee's hitting. Lavallee went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and tripled in the fourth inning.
Cole Irvin got the win, running his season record to 5-1. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
Cord Cockrell was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
