Previous Experience
Ben was drafted in the 40th round of the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft by the Los Angeles Angels and spent the next to seasons in their farm system. In 2014, he spent the entire season with their Class-A team in Burlington, IA appearing in 52 games out of the bullpen. He compiled a 3-2 record, 14 saves and 2.60 earned run average. Over 65.2 innings pitched he struck out 62 and walked only 17.

In the summer of the 2013, he split time with the Angels' rookie-level teams in Arizona and Orem, UT. He combined to appear in 24 games of relief with 10 saves and a 4-1 record.

Prior to playing professionally, Ben pitched four seasons at Division I Furman University
