Battaglia shined at D-III Chapman University in 2014 as he hit .356 in 43 games while only striking out 15 times. As a junior in 2013 he earned All-SCIAC recognition, tallying eight outfield assists to go along with a .989 fielding percentage and a .333 batting average.
