Draft Status: 2014 – Toronto Blue Jays (38th Round, 1134th Overall)

Keith Weisenberg is coming to Newport after finishing his first season with the Cardinal. He closed out his first season with a 1-2 record and 9.35 ERA in 12 appearances.

“Weisenberg will probably start for the Gulls this season, depending on how much he pitches at Stanford,” said Paiva. “I expect he will draw a lot of attention and will be fun to watch this summer.”

The 6’5” right hander from St. Petersburg, Florida was drafted out of high school by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 38th Round. An impressive pitcher nationally, Weisenberg has touched the mid-90s consistently with his fastball. Perfect Game has not only ranked him as the second best freshman prospect in the country, they also named him Perfect Game 1st Team All-American.
