The Freedom signed Soloman on August 6, 2014. He appeared in 13 games with 40 at bats, thus maintaining his "Rookie-1" eligibility for 2015. Soloman hit .200 with a home run and two RBI for Florence.

Soloman was chosen second team All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), second team Rawlings/America Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-South Region and first team All-Ohio Valley Conference in 2014. He led Eastern Kentucky University in hitting (.344), home runs (14), RBI (55) and slugging (.612). The Monroe, Connecticut native had an 18-game hitting streak through the heart of the 2014 OVC schedule. During that streak he hit .439 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI. Soloman ranked seventh in the nation in home runs, 15th in runs batted in per game (1.02), 19th in slugging percentage and 40th in total bases (128).
