Luke Barker saved the wins for Cal State Chico as a junior in 2014. While he did actually start one game, Barker closed the door on 18 Wildcat victories with a 2.18 ERA in 66 innings pitched. He allowed just 50 hits and 10 walks in those 66 innings, while striking out 50. His opponent batting average against was the best on the Wildcats’ staff for anyone who threw for any sort of substantial time and his strikeout to walk ratio topped the roster by quite a large margin. His 33 appearances led both his team and the conference.

As a high school player in Chico, Barker was a first-team All-Eastern Athletic League as a senior and helped lead his team to two league titles in addition to a North Section Championship. He’ll enter his senior year at Cal State Chico next year, where he studies Exercise Physiology.
