Made his professional debut in 2013 with two games for the Pecos League’s White Sands Pupfish, allowing no runs or walks in three innings while surrendering four hits and striking out two. Played in college at Madonna, where he finished a 2-year career with the Crusaders by posting an 11-2 won-loss record with a 3.66 ERA, 86 innings, 84 hits, and a 77-27 strikeouts-to-walks ratio. Prior to Madonna he played at Lakeland Community College in 2010 and Glen Oaks Community College in 2011. At Glen Oaks Vandemark was NJCAA First Team All-American with an 8-3 record, 2.25 ERA in 68 innings, 63 strikeouts and 16 walks. Pitched in 46 2/3 innings with 41 strikeouts in his freshman season at Lakeland. Played baseball, basketball, and golf at Hicksville (OH) High School in 2009, posting a career 23-12 record for the Aces and compiling the second highest number of strikeouts of any pitcher in the history of Hicksville High. Also was the first basketball player at Hicksville to score 1,000 points.
