Groh returns to the Wild Things for a third season in 2010.  In 2009, he started 19 games and posted a 6-5 record and a 4.17 ERA with 95 stikeouts and 40 walks. On May 23, he allowed no runs and three hits in six innings against Gateway. He had three eight-inning performances allowing just one run in each game: August 6 versus Lake Erie, August 19 versus Rockford and September 3 against Kalamazoo.
The Wild Things reacquired Groh from the Gary South Shore RailCats prior to opening day in 2009 after trading him to Gary in January 2009 along with infielder Jeff Beachum in exchange for pitcher Jon Lewis.
Groh  made his professional debut with Washington in 2008 and went 3-3 with a 4.79 ERA. In 35.2 innings, the Reading, Pa. native struck out 31 and walked only 12. Groh made nine appearances for the Wild Things including seven starts, and won his first two career appearances (both starts).

Groh began 2008 as a senior at Binghamton where he capped a brilliant career by leading the Bearcats to a third straight America East Conference Regular Season Championship. Groh was a three-time First Team All-Conference choice and was the league's Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore in 2006. In four seasons at Binghamton, Groh went 19-8 with a 2.94 ERA and struck out 251 hitters in 235.2 innings.2009 Club:
