Gibby is back for his fourth year of Lemurs baseball.  He spent 2012 as an account executive with the Lemurs and the last two years as an assistant coach.  Gibby is a Laredo native.

He was born and raised in Laredo, Texas where he graduated from St. Augustine High School in 1995 and from Texas A&M University-Kingsville with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology.  Vela-Cuellar served as a baseball and basketball coach at St. Augustine from 1999-2010.  He is also very involved in his families ranching business, the Border Olympics and the Laredo Golf Association.  

Vela-Cuellar has advanced his passion for baseball and hunting creating his own company called Bats and Racks Country.
