Joseph Reyes is in his first season with the ThunderBolts and fourth as a professional in 2021. He signed with the Bolts on May 12, 2021. Joseph's pro career began in 2017, when he signed as an international free agent with the Toronto Blue Jays out of the Dominican Republic. He spent three years in the Blue Jays organization, all of them in Rookie ball.

Entering 2021, in 131 professional games, he had a .219 batting average and .336 on-base percentage. In his best year, for the 2018 GCL Blue Jays, he hit .273 with six homers and an .895 OPS in 38 games. Prior to returning to the Domincan Republic as a high school junior, Reyes attended All Hallows High School in South Bronx, New York.
